Valley of Flower National Park

The Valley of Flowers National Park lies in the northern part of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The park is situated at a height of 3,600 meters ( 11,811.0 ft) above sea-level, and spread around 87.5 squire kilometers. It was declared national park in 1982, and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This national park shares borders with Nepal and Tibet. During the monsoon season, this magnificent vally comes alive with more than 600 varieties of Alpine Flowers and entire vally blooms with a carpet of flowers in mumtiple colors.

The show-cappes peaks provide a perfect backdrop for this natural wonder. Provides you are fit and don't mind an arduous treak, this is a site worth seeing.

How to reach Valley of Flowers

It will take 3 night to reach Valley of Flower, Night for stay and day for travel

You have to stay in night at three places of Uttarakhand

1st Night - Dehradun or Rishikesh ( in root )

2nd Night - Joshimath ( in root )

3rd Night - Ghangaria ( Valley of flower )

Let's starts from national capital New Delhi

Day - 1

New Delhi to Dehradoon / Rishikesh

Start Point : New Delhi

Transportation :-

(a) - Flying : Take a flight up to Dehradune

(b) - Other transportation : You can either take a train, hire a car or take a bus

End Place : Dehradune (Prefer ) or Rishikesh

Get overnight accommodation here

You will need to spend a night either at Deharadun or Rishikesh. You can resune the journey to the part the following day, understanding that it's a full day's journy.

Travel Duration : 5 to 6 hours

Day - 2

Travel by road from Dehradoon / Rishikesh to Joshimath

Start Point : Dehradoon / Rishikesh

Note : start journey early in the morning ( 4am to 7am )

Transportation : Bus / Car

End Place : Joshimath

the ride can take anywhere between 11 to 13 hours. Joshimath is at an elevation of 1,890 meters ( 6,200.8 ft) above the sea level, and has many reasonably priced hotels. Spends the night here, as the park is still way yet.

Govindghat is another 21 Kilometers away from Joshimath. The arduous 17 Kilometers trek to the Valley of Flowers park starts at this point.

Note : You cannot stay overnight in the park. The only accommodation available is at the Ghangaria Base camp. Plan accordingly, including the six hour return treak to visit park.

Day - 4

Trek for another 3 Hours to reach the Valley of Flowers

Return Again Ghangaria Base camp and stay in night there

Next Day : if you wants to go Gurudwara Hemkund Saheb then go for day 5 otherwise at day 5 comeback in reverse direction

Day - 5

Gurudwara Hemkund Saheb is 5.4 Kilometers treak from Gangharia.

Valley of Flower National Park Uttarakhand

Access and Flowering time :- May to Aug

May : Accessibility to the park starts from the last week of May, fewer flowers but little rain.

June : More flowers but not in great abundance. Many pilgrims will be taking the available accommodation apaces. The rain will not yet be an issue.

July and August : May flowers will be blooming through June until mid-July, From mid-july to mid- August, you will see the majority of the flowers, about 650 species in all.

September : This is the last chance to visit the park, during its autumn season. Many of the flowers have finished and have gone to seed the last week of Septmber is the last occasion for taking this trip.

Other Months : Snow makes the park inaccessible.

Important Tips :-

It is advisable to travel in early hours of the day in the Himalayas. the weather is unpredictable, and gets rough by evening. The best time to visit is Mid July to Mid August. The entire valley blooms with flowers after first monsoon rains. June can be a difficult month to travel to the park, as many pilgrims are headed to Shri Hemkund Sahib, and this increases the price of the available accommodation considerably.

Landslides are a common problem whene it starts to rain during the monsoon season and can make travel dfangerous. Check flood advisories at all times whene traveling in these areas.
