Faculty of Pharmacy, Kalinga University recently celebrated "World Pharmacist Day” on
Theme: ‘Pharmacy united in action for a healthier world’. On this occasion Free Medical
health check-up camp was organized by Faculty of Pharmacy and NSS unit. The celebration
started with the presence of Hon.Vice Chancellor Dr. R. Shridhar. On this occasion Dr.
Sandip Prasad Tiwari, Principal Faculty of Pharmacy gave a speech on Pharmacy
profession and Hon.Vice Chancellor blessed the gathering with his motivation speech for the
budding Pharmacist. The speech was followed by Pharmacist Oath ceremony. The
pharmacist oath guides pharmacists to adhere to the highest standards of ethics, integrity and
professionalism, as they provide service to the community over the course of their careers.
There after the inauguration of Health camp was done by Hon. Vice Chancellor- Dr. R.
Shridhar then the students and doctors’ team departed from the university to Village Kotni
Naya Raipur for the conduction of Free Health Camp. The Health camp conducted was in
association with Manovaigyanik & Ayshvidhi Sansthan, Raipur and sponsored by Apex
Pharma, Raipur. Dr. M. Gaurav Alluwalia (MBBS,DNB), Dr. Gopichand Sachdev
(MBBS, General Physician), Dr. Pragya Patel (BHMS), Dr. Nekdutt (BHMS), Dr.Laxmi
Pinjani (Dental Surgeon), Dr. Nitu Singh (Dental Surgeon), Dr. Rajpal Singh (Acupressure
Specialist), Dr. Priya Darshini Puppala (Physcotherapist), Dr. Uma Sahu (Cosmetologist),
Dr.Rituraj Taank (BAMS) were present for providing consultation. The medicines for the
Free Health Camp were sponsored by Apex Pharma. The health camp was attended by more
than 100 patients, who came up with different health related issues. These patients were
diagnosed and free medicines were provided in the camp. Students of D. Pharm, B, Pharm
and M. Pharm actively volunteered in the health camp. The event was coordinated by
Ms. Rajni Yadav, Mr. Sudeep Mandal, Ms. Srishti Namdeo, Mr. Saurabh Sharma, Mr.
Pranjul Shrivastava and Ms. Khushboo Gupta. Along with the health camp various other
events were organized that included Rangoli competition and medicinal plant exhibition
among the students of D. Pharm, B. Pharm, and M. Pharm.
Pharma Rangoli competition and Medicinal Plant Exhibition were based on the theme of
Pharmacy in which students participated actively to show their versatile talent. In pharma
rangoli competition student came up with the ideas like role of apron, various symbols used
in Pharmacy profession, Role and upliftment of Girl Pharmacist all these were presented in
the form of rangoli. In Medicinal Plant Exhibition students brought the medicinal plant and
beautifully presented the medicinal uses of the plant and the research ongoing on that
particular plant. For the judgment of these two competitions Faculty of Pharmacy invited
Dr. Vijayalaxmi (IQAC) who took the presentation of the students and lastly announced the
winners of the competition and presented a token of appreciation to winners. Ms. Pooja and
team, B. Pharma 3 rd Semester received 1 st prize for Rangoli competition and 2 nd prize was
received by Ms. Shreya Sahu, B. Pharma 1 st Semester. And for Medicinal Plant Exhibition
Mr. Shailendra, B. Pharma 3 rd sem won 1 st prize.
